With funding from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), Columbia University has developed a unique professional development training. The HI-FIVE (Health Informatics For Innovation, Value & Enrichment) program was designed for healthcare professionals to update their knowledge of health information technology within the context of the most relevant topics in today’s changing healthcare landscape.
The training program is case-based and tailored to specific health care roles, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, care coordinators, IT/data analysts, and community health workers. Learners are presented with an engaging and realistic case study, which is closely linked with learning objectives and topics presented through videos and quizzes. Finally, there is an opportunity to dive deeper with additional, optional materials, curated specifically for each health care role. The training is provided online through Coursera.
Our curricula covers topics from:
- Population Health
- Care Coordination and Interoperability
- Value-Based Care
- Data Analytics
- Patient-Centered Care
